Un des plus beaux concerts de la saison. Sensibilité, talent, beauté, intelligence, le violoncelliste allemand, Alban Gerhardt reçut d’Apollon tous les dons, même celui du bonheur. L’artiste charismatique revient pour la quatrième fois au Théâtre de la Ville. Il a choisi pour partenaire le grand soliste écossais, Stephen Osborne, « pianiste stupéfiant, musicien pur et profond ». Leur programme, aussi inattendu qu’incandescent, réunit des œuvres de Schumann, Piazzola, Chostakovitch et le fascinant chef-d’œuvre du Français Alkan, compositeur presque inconnu du xixe siècle. One of the most beautiful concerts of the season. The German cellist Alban Gerhardt has received all of Apollo's gifts, sensibility, talent, elegance, intelligence and even the gift for happiness. This charismatic artist comes back for the fourth time to the Théâtre de la Ville and has chosen as a partner Stephen Osborne, the great Scottish soloist, "an astounding pianist, a true and perfect musician". Their programme, both unexpected and incandescent, combines works composed by Schumann, Piazzola, Chostakovich and the captivating masterpiece by Alkan, the almost unknown 19th century French composer.
