Voilà ce qu’on appelle une nature. Une artiste généreuse et curieuse, jamais à court d’idées pour concevoir un programme ou réveiller des œuvres assoupies sous leur notoriété. Invitée une première fois au Théâtre de la Ville avec Andreas Staier, son compatriote et complice de toujours, Christine Schornsheim revint seule, les Variations Goldberg dans la tête. Ce troisième rendez-vous exclusivement consacré à Haydn, sa dernière passion, réunit deux instruments qu’elle pratique avec autant de panache et de tact : le clavecin et le pianoforte. Nul doute que, sollicités par des phrasés qu’on sait déjà inventifs et stimulants, ces claviers souriront de toutes leurs notes. Philippe Venturini |
What a woman! a generous artist full of curiosity who never lacks ideas to create a programme or revive works that have been dulled by their fame. Christine Schornsheim was invited once to the Théâtre de la Ville with Andreas Staier, a fellow countryman and lifelong friend, but came back by herself with the Goldberg Variations on her mind. This third meeting is dedicated exclusively to Haydn, her latest passion, and the programme brings side by side two instruments she plays impressively as well as elegantly, the harpsichord and the pianoforte. The keyboards will no doubt smile from note to note when stirred into action by Schornsheim’s phrasing that we know to be inventive and enticing. Philippe Venturini |
